Advanced Modern Medical Laboratory Management & Design Program

The Advanced Modern Medical Laboratory Management & Design Program was held from August 5 to 9, 2024, as a collaboration between the Simulation Center of Thai Medical 88 Co., Ltd. and MedPark Hospital. The program was led by Ms. Kamolwan Intra, Senior Director of the Simulation Center, and Dr. Visitsak Suksa-ardphasu, Director of the Laboratory Department, MedPark Hospital.

The participants in this training were medical technologists who are either current or aspiring laboratory managers, heads of departments, or hold other roles related to laboratory management. They represented leading medical institutions in Thailand, including the Sriphat Medical Center, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University; Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University; Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Thammasat University; and Siriraj Hospital. Other participating organizations included Chaophya Hospital, hospitals under the Mahachai Group such as Mahachai 2 Hospital and Mahachai Petcharat Hospital, related medical companies, and the Ministry of Public Health.

The course focused on equipping participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills in quality management of medical laboratories, human resource management, leadership in times of change, financial and marketing cost management, strategic planning, and designing laboratories that meet standards of safety and efficiency. Upon completion of the training, participants were able to apply the knowledge and experiences gained to manage laboratories effectively, develop appropriate laboratory work plans, and exchange experiences with peers in the field. The program also supported the accumulation of continuing education credits from the Medical Technology Council.
